Atheism vs Agnosticism

When I was a child, I was raised mostly Lutheran. However, as I entered foster homes, they had their own beliefs including born again Christians, and Jehovah Witness. As I entered adult-hood, I converted to Christianitarian. However, with more than a decade of praying and pleading with God for relief in pain and other issues, and with those prayers falling on deaf ears, I had decided that there might not be a god, and if there was – he has no desire to make things better for me. With most Christians views that God loves you, this is far from any sense of love by definition. This is not to say that I am angry at God as he is under no obligation to me. However, with that being said – I have no obligation to him even if there was a god.

Atheism

According to Wikipedia, Atheism is an absence of belief in the existence of deities. This means that there is no deity or supernatural being. And there is likely no way to convince and atheist that there is a god. Simply put, making prayers to any deity is a waste of time, and effort, and even downright silly as there is no being hearing these prayers.

Agnosticism

According to Wikipedia, Agnosticism is the view or belief that the existence of God, the divine, or the supernatural is either unknowable in principle or unknown in fact. This means that there might be a deity, but there is no definitive proof of its existence, or lack of. As mentioned, God either does not exist, or choose to ignore my prayers. I wasn’t asking to be wealthy, but make the pain I suffered manageable. With those prayers falling on either deaf ears, or non-existent ears, I have chosen that I do not owe God (if there is one) anything. With that being said, I am leaning more towards Agnostic.
