Yimoon Utility Vest

While my standard for pants are cargo pants, I didn’t like the fact that my keys was placed. I also didn’t like the fact that my phone slid outside of my top open pocket. With these two things in mind, I wanted alternatives for pockets. This is where I came across to get a cargo vest. This is a vest with multiple pockets, and boy does this vest have multiple pockets. The Yimoon Utility Vest supports all of my needs, and allows for better organization. I also have a dedicated closed pocket for the phone which is good because my phone is $1,500. I am also more confident on where my keys are located at, and can access everything easily, and not have to reach down to my knee to get my keys.

The Good

More pockets than I need. This means I don’t have to worry about this vest being obsolete, and like every vest – this one has no sleeves. This means I can wear it in the Summer without attracting more heat on me. Obviously, the vest itself is black. All of the pockets are closed which means I can store items with some level of confidence. Most of the closures are velcro through, so I am sure that there will be a time when they will wear out.

The price was also good. The vest was $30 which is affordable. And of course, since I am a Prime member on Amazon, the vest arrived to me pretty quickly. This was more expensive than the cheapest vests, but I did buy a cheap one, and wasn’t satisfied with the quality. As usual, you get what you pay for. There are more expensive vests, but this one seemed to meet my needs, and had good reviews.

The Bad

While the exterior of the vest is as you would expect, the interior seems to have this strange netting like material. I am guessing so it can breathe, and while I don’t feel it (I wear a shirt), it is odd nonetheless. This netting style goes to the back, and one can unzip the back to expose this netting like style. This, I see no purpose for. It would have made more sense to have it as an extra large pocket, but even that would be useless (being on the backside).

The sizing is terrible. I ordered a 3XL, and it is a little tight of a fit. I definitely would want to wear a shirt between my chest, and the vest. The vest just goes down slightly below where the belly button would be. I was hoping for better on ordering a 3XL. I understand that I am not the most fit person, but this is why I ordered a 3XL.

Last, the zippers feel cheaply made. I don’t want the zipper to break on me, so I been taking off the vest in a similar way that you would take off a t-shirt. The previous vest had a broken zipper on arrival, and while this is not the case with this vest, I am still a little weary of the main zipper.

Verdict

This is a good vest, even despite the flaws. I am considering ordering another one to act as a backup (in case something goes wrong). The only big issues are the sizing, and zippers. These are obviously issues I will look over. If this type of clothing is something you would wear, then the pocket placement, and quantity will suit you well.
